Admission and Registration in Master Programs

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a regular (full-time) bachelor’s degree from a Saudi academic institution or a recognized university in one of the engineering disciplines (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related field) with a cumulative GPA of no less than Very Good (3.75 out of 5) or its equivalent.

  • For Saudi or GCC nationals, the applicant must have a minimum score of 65 on the Qiyas General Aptitude Test, and the score must not be older than five years.

  • For international applicants, the applicant must have a minimum score of 130 in the quantitative section of the GRE test, and the score must not be older than two years.

  • The applicant must have a minimum score of 450 in the TOEFL-PBT or its equivalent. The score must not be older than two years. The College Council may grant an exception to this requirement.

  • A letter of approval from the applicant’s employer (if currently employed).

  • Submission of at least two academic recommendation letters from faculty members who have previously taught the applicant.

  • Submission of a Statement of Purpose.

The department will evaluate and rank applicants who meet the above requirements based on the following criteria:

  • 45% for the cumulative GPA

  • 45% for the General Aptitude Test or GRE score

  • 10% for professional experience

The official language of this program is English. Therefore, proficiency in English (both spoken and written) is essential due to the theoretical and technical nature of the master's courses.

To graduate, students must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours, which consist of:

  • 19 credit hours of core courses

  • 9 credit hours of elective courses

  • 8 credit hours dedicated to the master’s thesis
