The University Council determines the number of students to be admitted for an academic year based on the recommendations submitted by the College Councils and the relevant departments. The general evaluation procedures for newly admitted and internal transfer students are outlined below. To be admitted to the university, applicants must meet the following requirements:
The applicant must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent (with a minimum GPA of 3 out of 5) from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, obtained within the past five years.
The applicant must have obtained their high school certificate or equivalent within five years prior to the application date. However, the University Council may waive this condition if the applicant presents a valid justification.
The applicant must provide a certificate of good conduct.
The applicant must pass any exams or interviews deemed necessary by the University Council.
The applicant must be medically fit.
The applicant must obtain approval from their employer if employed in any public or private institution.
The applicant must fulfill any other requirements specified by the University Council at the time of application.
Selection among applicants who meet all admission requirements is based on high school grades, as well as performance in interviews and entrance exams, if applicable.
The following condition must be met for the admission of non-Saudi students (residents) on a scholarship from within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:
Permanent residency in the Kingdom and the sponsor’s approval to study at the university.
The following conditions must be met for the admission of non-Saudi students on a scholarship from outside the Kingdom:
The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years of age for undergraduate studies in the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers or similar programs, with possible exemption by the University President for a valid reason.
Approval from the applicant’s home country government to study in Saudi Arabia, only if the same condition applies to Saudi students wishing to study there.
The applicant must not be receiving another scholarship from any educational institution in Saudi Arabia.
Certificates or identity documents must be authenticated by the authorities specified by the university.
A certificate of no criminal record from the applicant’s home country.
A letter of recommendation.
