Council of the Department of Hadith Studies

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recommending the approval of study plans and any amendments thereto.
  2. Recommending the approval of academic programs, curricula, prescribed textbooks, and reference materials within the department.
  3. Nominating distinguished scholars and specialists on a part-time basis to teach courses or supervise research projects and theses.
  4. Proposing and recommending the appointment of visiting specialists, both Saudi and non-Saudi, for a specified period to teach in the department.
  5. Proposing admission and transfer regulations to and from the department.
  6. Forming permanent and ad hoc committees related to the department.
  7. Reviewing matters concerning faculty members, including contract requests, transfers, academic leave, scholarly achievements following leave, promotions, and appointments under the talent recruitment system, and making appropriate recommendations.
  8. Reviewing matters concerning postgraduate students, including deferment, course withdrawal, requests for additional study periods, re-enrollment, appointment of supervisors, submission of theses and formation of examination committees, degree awards, study plan amendments, admission procedures, and comprehensive examinations, and making appropriate recommendations.
  9. Proposing new academic programs and development initiatives related to the programs offered by the college.
  10. Nominating candidates for international awards when nominations are requested.
  11. Reviewing course equivalency requests and recommending whether equivalency should be granted.
  12. Considering any matters referred to it by the College Council or its Chairperson for study and opinion.
