Objectives of the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs

  1. Organizing class schedules and coordinating between departments for general and shared courses, as well as assigning classrooms.
  2. Supervising the teaching load of faculty members and their equivalents, and coordinating with other colleges in collaboration with the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
  3. Monitoring the progress of the educational process, preparing reports on the progress of studies and academic performance in the college, and submitting them to the Dean.
  4. Supervising the Committee for Study Plans and Curricula.
  5. Overseeing the conduct of final examinations in coordination with academic departments and the Deanship of Admission and Registration, and supervising the overall management of exams, including providing classrooms and invigilators.
  6. Forming and supervising the committee responsible for reviewing excuses for absence from final exams.
  7. Supervising the preparation of classrooms and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
  8. Following up on re-enrollment processes.
  9. Approving graduation documents and students’ academic records.
  10. Forming and supervising committees to review student complaints and grievances.
  11. Providing academic guidance and counseling to students.
  12. Monitoring the entry of students’ grades.
  13. Coordinating with the Deanship of Admission and Registration regarding the summer semester.
  14. Following up on quality assurance activities within the college.
  15. Supervising student affairs and its affiliated units.
  16. Monitoring the operation and readiness of the College of Science laboratories and their equipment.
  17. General supervision of examinations.
  18. General supervision of the Scholarship Committee.
  19. Serving as a member of the permanent committee for monitoring the implementation of the university’s study and examination regulations.
  20. Issuing directives and instructions related to the Vice Deanship.

Objectives Related to Graduate Studies

  1. Improving the performance quality of graduate students, researchers, and faculty members.
  2. Linking graduate studies and scientific research to societal issues relevant to departmental specializations.


Duties of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs

Administrative Duties:

  1. Serving as Vice Dean of the College.
  2. Acting as Secretary of the College Council.
  3. Member of the Permanent Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the University’s Study and Examination Regulations.
  4. Chair of the Committee for Preparing the Self-Study Report for the Three Programs.
  5. Member of the Committee for Monitoring Quality Assurance Activities within the College.
  6. Supervising student affairs and its affiliated units.
  7. Monitoring the operation and readiness of the College of Science laboratories and their equipment.
  8. General supervision of examinations.
  9. General supervision of the Scholarship Committee.
  10. Chair of Standard Five in Program Accreditation for the Three Departments.
  11. Member of Standard Two in Program Accreditation for the Three Departments.
  12. Member of Standard Nine in Program Accreditation for the Three Departments.
  13. Member of the Committee for Revising the Program Self-Study Report as a Requirement for Academic Accreditation.

Duties Related to Graduate Studies:

  1. Supervising graduate studies and scientific research affairs.
  2. Following up on scholarship matters within the college, in coordination with academic departments and relevant university authorities.
  3. Executing tasks assigned to the Vice Deanship.
  4. Implementing college policies related to graduate studies and scholarships and monitoring their achievement.
  5. Supervising the development and review of admission requirements for graduate studies.
  6. Monitoring graduate student affairs within the college.
  7. Supervising graduate programs offered by the college.
  8. Proposing mechanisms for implementing scholarship policies within the college.
  9. Supervising the follow-up of the status of college scholarship students abroad in coordination with relevant authorities.
  10. Coordinating seminars, conferences, and scientific forums organized by the college with the university’s executive bodies.
  11. Receiving departmental decisions regarding graduate student requests and forwarding them to the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
  12. Supervising requests for deferment and withdrawal from studies in accordance with applicable regulations and decisions for graduate students.
  13. Overseeing the implementation of matters referred to the Vice Deanship related to graduate studies and scientific research.
  14. Supervising faculty requests for academic promotions, conference and seminar attendance, sabbatical leave, and scientific communication.
  15. Carrying out tasks assigned by the College Deanship.
