Address by the General Supervisor of Digital Transformation

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the most honorable of prophets and messengers.

Driven by the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the immense importance it places on digital transformation as a primary enabler for institutional excellence and sustainability—and as an extension of the Islamic University’s mission in scientific leadership and community service both locally and globally—the General Administration of Digital Transformation proceeds in building an integrated university digital ecosystem based on effective governance, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

Believing that the Islamic University is "The Kingdom’s Gift to the World," we move confidently toward the future through an ambitious digital transformation plan, in which we employ technology to craft a global digital experience that reflects the university’s authenticity in serving its students from more than 170 countries, while simultaneously contributing to building the capacity of our national cadres and empowering them to lead institutional change.

In this context, we believe that digital transformation is no longer merely a technical development, but has become a comprehensive institutional approach to redesigning business, improving operational efficiency, elevating the quality of academic and administrative services, and creating a unified and effective digital experience for all beneficiaries, in line with the university’s status and global mission.

The Manarat Al-Ibdā’ (Beacon of Innovation) initiatives embody this strategic direction by adopting innovative digital solutions, enhancing integration between systems and platforms, raising the level of digital maturity, and empowering human competencies capable of leading change, ensuring the optimal utilization of resources and achieving a sustainable impact.

Our goal is to merge institutional authenticity with technical innovation to present a digital university model worthy of the university’s guests and its global scientific standing, keeping pace with the rapid changes in the higher education sector, and contributing to the support of the university’s objectives and Saudi Vision 2030.

We are also keen to unify efforts with various university sectors and relevant stakeholders, believing that the success of digital transformation is a shared responsibility based on effective partnership, the integration of roles, and the consolidation of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

We ask Allah Almighty to bless the efforts of all university staff and to grant us success in achieving the aspirations of our wise leadership and serving the university’s mission and goals.Dr. Majid Amin Bakr Hariri General Supervisor of Digital Transformation Islamic University of Madinah
