The Dean of the Institute

Prof. Yazed Bader Alsaawy, Dean of the Institute of Research and Studies at the Islamic University, is an academic and consultant with extensive experience in digital transformation and technology governance. He has led strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing the Islamic University’s systems and operations in alignment with international best practices. His expertise spans digital transformation, service enhancement, technology governance, and institutional innovation.


Prof. Yazed is an Associate Professor holding a PhD in Computer Science from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom. He also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University. His academic and research contributions cover cybersecurity, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and smart city technologies, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Yazed has held several senior executive and advisory positions, including Director General of Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Education, Digital Transformation Advisor at the Secretariat, and member of the Digital Transformation Committee in the Madinah Region. He also contributed to governance and data enablement initiatives through his work at the Data and Statistics Center and led strategic digital transformation projects at both the Ministry of Education and the Islamic University.

Prof. Yazed represents a distinguished model of academic and executive leadership, combining scientific expertise with strategic vision to support innovation, institutional development, and the advancement of the Islamic University’s role in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
