Orientation for new students
Since the founding of the college, semester departments have been organized for freshman orientation for freshmen and transfer students. The Dean of Provosts, the Advisory Unit, and the heads of departments provide an overview of their departments, study plans, educational outcomes, and jobs that will be available for graduates. Likewise, the student is informed of his rights and duties. The College Counseling Department conducts an introductory tour of the college, the university and its facilities. Then the students are assigned to academic advisors and each student is introduced to his/her academic advisor.
Evaluation of student performance
To obtain a bachelor's degree from the Department of Information Technology, the student must complete the subjects in the curriculum; Have a GPA of at least 2.75/5.0 in all work done at IU (Islamic University of Madinah).
Course Grading Policy:
Students' grades are assigned according to the grading scale (as described below) of the University Study and Examination Regulations. In addition, the faculty may take into account the class mean and standard deviation
Actual class performance of student grade assignments.
The academic status of a student of any of the three programs of the College of Computers and Information Systems is one of the following:
● Honors Degree: A first-class honors degree is awarded to students who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 4.75 to 5.00 upon graduation. A second class honors degree is awarded to students who have a cumulative grade point average between 4.25 and 4.75 upon graduation. Honors graduate students must fulfill the following requirements:
You have not failed any course at IU or any other university.
To have completed graduation requirements in no more than twelve semesters.
Have completed 100% of IU's graduation requirements.
A student is granted this status after processing final grades at the end of each regular semester if his or her cumulative GPA is less than 2.75.
Dismissal from the university
The student is dismissed from the university in the following cases:
If the student receives three consecutive academic warnings with a GPA of less than 2.75.
If the student does not complete the graduation requirements within a maximum period of 12 semesters.
If it turns out that the student deliberately failed the courses, the University Council may cancel his registration

Transfers between colleges at the Islamic University of Madinah or from other institutions are managed by the Deanship of Admission and Registration and are subject to the approval of the College of Islamic Studies in Iraq (FCIS). Transfers within FCIS are managed by the College's Student Affairs Committee
Transfer between departments at the university may be permitted if the student:
● Apply for transfer at the end of the first semester during the first academic year.
● Has a GPA of over 3.50;
● He has not previously transferred to another department in the university. And
● In transferring, it will not exceed the maximum number of transfers allocated by the department as determined at the beginning of each semester.
Transfer of faculty members
Transfer from another faculty of the University to FCIS may be permitted as long as the student:
● Passed the preparatory year for the faculties of science.
● Has not previously transferred to another college;
● has a GPA of at least 3.50 points; And
● Completed only one semester at the current college.
Note: Transfer of students to FCIS is permitted based on the number of students the department can support.
Transfer from the Faculty of Computer and Information Systems at another university to FCIS may be permitted if the student:
● has a GPA of at least 3.50 points;
● has a student record free of disciplinary sanctions; And
● A minimum of 60% of the degree remaining to be completed prior to graduation.
Acceptance of transfers to FCIS is based on the availability of seats at the College.
1. Poor quality of teaching or educational services
2. Misleading or withholding information by the guardian or the administrative staff
3. Insufficient services and facilities
4. Misconduct by any of the university employees - administrative or academic
5. Misconduct by any student within the university premises
6. Offensive statements by faculty members or students within the university premises.
The aim of the Information Technology program at the College of Computing and Information Systems at the Islamic University is to provide our students with a modern approach in the field of information technology, to ensure that they have a solid foundation in basic concepts, to equip them with problem-solving and decision-making skills, and to prepare them for lifelong learning in the discipline. The department provides and encourages academic, intellectual and academic growth for faculty members. The department supports and encourages local and regional technology initiatives that contribute to educational and economic advancement. The degree contains prerequisites, major requirements, and required electives. The specialization contains those courses that are considered basic in the field of information technology, and electives give the student some flexibility in choosing. To obtain a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree, a student must fulfill the college and department degree requirements:
To enter FCIS, students must complete two semesters (27 credits) during the preparatory year. The preparatory year is considered part of the Information Technology program because its courses count toward students' final transcripts.
To be considered a graduate of the IT department, a student needs to meet two criteria:
● Current curricula (valid since the first semester 2017/2018 / 10-semester study plan) Completion of 10 levels of the curriculum with a total of 165 credit hours (30 credit hours from the preparatory year in addition to 135 credit hours of coursework in the Department of Information Technology and Studies the public).
