Functions of the College Council

Article (34) of the Higher Education and Universities Council Regulations stipulates the following:

The College Council shall consider matters pertaining to the college, and in particular the following:


  1. Proposing or amending study plans, in coordination with the departments.
  2. Proposing curricula, courses, books, and references for the college departments.
  3. Encouraging scientific research, coordinating it among the college departments, and facilitating its publication.
  4. Proposing examination schedules and establishing the rules governing their administration.
  5. Proposing the college's internal regulations.
  6. Proposing training and scholarship plans needed by the college.
  7. Proposing a plan for extracurricular activities within the college.
  8. Deciding on student-related matters within its jurisdiction and submitting recommendations to the University Council on matters outside its jurisdiction.
  9. Considering matters referred to it by the University Council, the University President, or the Vice President for study and providing its opinion.
