Lending Policy

Categories Eligible to Borrow from the Central Library:

1. University faculty members and those in equivalent positions: (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer, Teaching Assistant, Language Instructor, and Adjunct/Collaborating Faculty Member).

2. University postgraduate students: (Master’s and Doctoral students).

3. University students: (Bachelor’s students, both regular and affiliated/enrollment students).

4. University diploma students: (Special Diploma, Higher Diploma, Preparatory Year Diploma, and Diploma).

5. University employees.

6. External beneficiaries, provided that they pay a financial deposit determined by the Deanship Council and subject to periodic revision.

7. Public libraries in the Kingdom, according to agreements between them and the Library governing lending regulations.

8. Saudi university libraries and libraries in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, according to the interlibrary loan system between universities, where such a system exists and has been approved among the universities.

9. Any other categories deemed and approved by the Deanship Council.

Article Forty-Six: Materials Not Permitted for Loan

1. All reference information sources, such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and guides.

2. Periodicals and scholarly series dealing with related or continuing subjects.

3. Government publications, documents, maps, and files.

4. University academic theses and dissertations (Master’s and Doctoral theses).

5. Original and reproduced manuscripts.

6. Rare books.

7. Non-print materials, such as discs, tapes, computer programs, and similar materials.

8. Textbooks and prescribed course books.

9. Reserved books.

10. Restricted-access books.

11. Books belonging to special/private libraries, subject to the provisions stipulated in the relevant section.

12. Books for which the Library has only a single copy.
