Saudi Digital Library
The Saudi Digital Library (SDL) is the largest academic consortium of information resources in the Arab world, encompassing over 310,000 scientific references covering all academic disciplines. It continuously updates this content, resulting in a massive accumulation of knowledge over the long term. The library has contracted with more than 300 international publishers and won the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information ("AFEL") Award for Outstanding Projects across the Arab World in 2010.
The library provides a unified umbrella for all Saudi universities to negotiate legal and financial matters with publishers. This collective approach yields significant financial and effort savings, allowing institutions to secure greater benefits and rights from publishers.
