Establishment of the Department
The Department of Aqeedah is one of the departments within the Faculty of Da'wah and Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University of Madinah. It was established by virtue of the Higher Council of the University's Resolution No. (32) dated 25/2/1397 AH.
In the academic year 1439/1440 AH, the department witnessed the launch of the new undergraduate program under the title "Aqeedah and Religions Program," as well as the Aqeedah and Da'wah program, alongside postgraduate programs in the following tracks:

Mission
To teach and instill the correct Islamic creed in the hearts of students, study sects, religions, and intellectual ideologies, enrich scientific research, and prepare graduate students in these specializations according to the methodology of moderation and balance, while serving the local and global community.
Goals and Tasks
Introducing Aqeedah, religions, and sects.
Instilling Islamic creed, values, morals, and principles in the souls of students.
Qualifying specialists in Aqeedah and religions who are proficient in the fundamentals of their specialization and capable of dealing with local and international developments, variables, and contemporary requirements related to their field.
Consolidating the values of moderation, balance, and the correct understanding that leads to building a balanced personality.
Developing students' academic faculty built upon analysis, deduction, reasoning, and scientific research methodologies.
Preparing a generation of researchers in Aqeedah, religions, and sects who possess thinking skills and the fundamentals of scientific research, enabling them to complete their postgraduate studies in specialized fields.
Mastering the skills of critiquing and responding to opposing sects.
Applying what the student has learned in the field of interfaith dialogue.
Meeting the needs of the Islamic world and other societies in preparing specialists in Aqeedah.
Qualifying specialists in Aqeedah and religions who bear responsibility and exercise wisdom in communicating with others.
Training students to use modern technology in the field of specialization.
Training students to build scientific research tools.
Department Council Responsibilities and Tasks
