Scientific Council

The role of Scientific Councils at Saudi universities has undergone a significant transformation in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the implementation of the new Universities Law. The Council’s role is no longer limited to routine procedures and traditional academic promotion processes; rather, it has evolved into a strategic arm for enhancing university autonomy, improving global rankings, and advancing the transition toward a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.

To provide advice on the University’s academic and scientific standards, with a focus on academic quality, and to oversee all matters relating to faculty members and those holding equivalent positions.

To consider and make recommendations on the appointment and promotion of faculty members, scholarly publishing, academic sabbaticals, participation in scientific courses, the engagement of part-time professors, and other related matters.
