Duties of the Deanship of Scientific Research
Preparing the University's annual scientific research plan and the budget required for its implementation, in preparation for submission to the Scientific Council based on the recommendation of the Standing Committee.
Disbursing funds from the approved scientific research budget within the limits of the delegated financial authority.
Managing the administrative and financial affairs related to scientific research and research teams.
Proposing research regulations and bylaws and submitting them to the Standing Committee.
Providing technical and administrative oversight of the various activities of the Executive Administration, developing plans and work programs, and monitoring their implementation.
Monitoring scientific research funded internally and externally, as well as the scholarly outputs resulting from such research.
Reviewing scientific research proposals submitted by faculty members and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements prior to their approval by the Standing Committee.
Monitoring the implementation of scientific research projects, their evaluation, and funding in accordance with the governing regulations.
Encouraging faculty members, equivalent academic personnel, researchers, and students to conduct innovative scientific research, providing them with the necessary research resources and facilities, particularly those on research sabbaticals, and enabling them to carry out their work in an appropriate scholarly environment.
Overseeing the activities of research centers and units affiliated with the Executive Administration, monitoring their activities, and evaluating their performance.
Coordinating with relevant entities within the University regarding student research, facilitating the resources and research tools necessary for the completion of their research projects and theses, and involving them in research teams.
Coordinating efforts among the University's research units, eliminating duplication of activities, and promoting collaborative and interdisciplinary research teams across departments and colleges.
Cooperating and coordinating with research institutions, research institutes, and local research centers both within and outside the University, as well as communicating with international research institutions and centers to leverage opportunities for advancing and developing scientific research at the University in accordance with applicable regulations.
Proposing avenues of cooperation with external research funding organizations, attracting external funding, and submitting recommendations to the Standing Committee for consideration by the Scientific Council and approval by the University Council in accordance with established procedures.
Recommending the appointment of experts, researchers, and research assistants for specified periods funded through scientific research project budgets.
Promoting research ethics and fostering a culture of academic integrity among researchers.
Establishing a database of ongoing and completed research projects at the University and facilitating the exchange of research information with universities and research centers.
Preparing the proposed budget of the Executive Administration and the annual report for submission to the Scientific Council based on the recommendation of the Standing Committee.
Undertaking any other duties assigned under the Executive Regulations.
