It was established with the kind approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques by telegram No. (693/MB) on 3/2/1430 AH to play its effective role in establishing a culture of quality, and contribute to achieving the goals of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission on quality assurance, and identify the best methods and methods for the advancement of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Quality centers (or units) in higher education institutions are an important element in most countries in which accreditation and quality assurance bodies have been established. The educational institution and those in charge of these centers.
From here, the process of establishing quality centers within educational institutions has become an important procedure, and a basic requirement required by accreditation and quality bodies from any institution of higher education seeking to obtain academic accreditation and quality assurance.
The issue of quality centers/units was one of the most important things that the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation was keen to establish because of its effective role in establishing a culture of quality and assisting the relevant educational institutions in achieving the goals of the commission that center around quality assurance and identifying the best ways and means for the advancement of higher education in the Kingdom.
In the interest of the various educational institutions - to move forward in the field of development, they have established these centers to help move forward with that.
In response from the Islamic University to all of this, the University Council adopted Resolution No. (444/1428/1429), which includes the recommendation to establish a deanship under the name (Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation) and to refer it to the Council of Higher Education.
Then the esteemed Council of Higher Education Resolution No. (17/51/1429) was issued on 10/18/1429 AH, which included the establishment of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the Islamic University.
The decision culminated in the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in telegram No. (963/MB) on 2/3/1430 AH.
Then a decision was issued by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education to appoint Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Otaibi as Dean of Quality and Academic Accreditation for a period of two years, starting from 9/1/1431 AH.

Vision :
That the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the Islamic University be a leading center in quality and qualification for academic, institutional, and program accreditation.
Mission:
Spreading the culture of quality, building its systems, and qualifying colleges, institutes, academic programs, supporting deanships, and various departments to achieve institutional and program accreditation requirements in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation.
Objectives:
1- Promoting a culture of quality among university employees.
2- Achieving comprehensive quality in the university.
3- Ensuring the continuity of institutional academic accreditation of the university.
4- Providing technical support to academic institutions to obtain programmatic academic accreditation
