First: Rules and Regulations of study

The student studies three consecutive semesters to complete the courses of the common first-year.

The process of registering courses and the academic schedule is done automatically by the Deanship of Admission and Registration in accordance with the study plan for the common first-year.

Addition and deletion operations are not allowed, and the schedule is considered fixed throughout the study period in the common first-year.

No apology or postponement is allowed during the study of common first-year courses.

All common first-year courses must be passed successfully during the first-year, and in the event that the student fails in one of the courses, he is given an exceptional semester, and in the event that the course is a prerequisite for another course, then the study of the other course is postponed to the next semester (provided that the student’s study does not exceed three semesters and one semester summer to complete the Common First-year requirements).

The student is denied entry to the final exam due to absence if his attendance rate is less than (85%) of the lectures and scientific lessons specified for each course during the semester, and a deprived grade (DN) is allocated to him in the final transcript.

The student should bring his excuses (medical or official) within a maximum period of one week from the date of absence, and the college must accept these excuses.

Calculating the common first-year courses in the student's cumulative average, and these courses are part of the student's plan at the bachelor's level.

 

Second: Placement criteria in scientific colleges

Successfully passing all the requirements of the Common First-year programme with a GPA of no less than (4.00) for the College of Engineering, (3.00) for the College of Computer, and no less than (2.75) for the College of Science.

The College of Engineering requires a minimum score for passing mathematics courses (80 marks) and English language course (80 marks) for each semester.

The College of Computer requires a minimum pass for the computer course (75 marks), for the mathematics courses (75 marks) and for the English language course (75 marks) for each semester.

The duration of undergraduate study in any of the scientific colleges (Engineering - Computer - Science) is four academic years apart from the common first-year.

 

 

Third: Cases of student registration being expelled (dismissal from the university)

If the student does not pass the Common First-year courses successfully in three semesters and a summer semester as a maximum.

If the student fails twice in a row to pass the same course of English language or mathematics courses in the first joint year.

 

 

Fourth: Behavior and attitude

Commitment to the official dress during the school day, and not to wear clothes that contravene Islamic teachings on campus.

Commitment to the civilized appearance of the university student in agreement with the values of the Islamic University.

Commitment to always bring the university card during the school day.

Commitment not to smoke inside the campus of the Islamic University, and in the event of this violation, the student's registration will be automatically terminated.

The student's commitment to the university's rules and regulations.

 

Fifth: Unless it is mentioned in the charter of the common first-year programme the regulations for studying and exams for the undergraduate level and its executive rules are applied in the university.
